Teri has dedicated herself to creating confident smiles at Valley Orthodontics since 1999 and is one of our most experienced Orthodontic Technicians! When she’s not helping patients achieve their incredible new smiles, you can find her chasing adventure and spending time with her husband, three grown children, and amazing grandchildren. From camping and fishing in the beauty of Alaska, to relaxing on the beaches of the Caribbean, Teri is always seeking fun and adventure. Her commitment to her work and family life is never in question. There is no doubt Teri lives by her motto for everyday life, “If you want something, work for it!” ~Bill Belichick

Jackie - Valley Orthodontics

Jackie

Jackie’s contribution to the success of Valley Orthodontics over the last 25 years is immeasurable. Her skills are as extensive as her time with the practice. As our in-house Lab Technician, she fabricates retainers and most of our orthodontic appliances right here in our office. She is also responsible for the professional images and records we take on every patient. She too is a lifelong Alaskan who enjoys time with family, whether for movie nights, backyard gatherings, or creative projects. Jackie’s creativity provides our office the luxury of whimsical holiday decorations and contest displays, while her attention to detail and quality is apparent in all aspects of her work. Jackie’s motto for life is: “You cannot use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” ~Maya Angelou

Marlana - Valley Orthodontics

Marlana

Marlana built her foundation for a successful orthodontic career starting 25 years ago in her home state of Ohio. We are fortunate that Marlana eventually made her way to Alaska 19 years ago and joined the team at Valley Orthodontics. After many years as a skilled and accomplished Orthodontic Technician, Marlana recently began her new role as Financial Coordinator, assisting our patients and her teammates with all elements of the financial sphere. Marlana is devoted to quality time with her two daughters and Guinea pig, Peaches. She also takes every opportunity she can to visit her Ohio family and friends. Her favorite saying is, “Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.” ~Sonia Ricotti

Calli - Valley Orthodontics

Calli

Calli joined the team at Valley Orthodontics in 2001 and although she has taken some time away from work to raise her two children, she continues to play an integral role as part of our team. Always ready to greet and assist our patients with an approachable smile, Calli is usually the first face you will see when you walk through our front door. Calli enjoys seeing smiling faces, both familiar and new, and is always enthusiastic to help with scheduling, finances, and anything treatment related as she has year of experience as an orthodontic technician. Calli and her husband grew up in the Valley and are grateful to be able to raise their two children here as well. They love the outdoors and engaging with the community. Their family motto is fittingly, “No good thing comes without hard work.”

Tracey - Valley Orthodontics

Our very own southern belle, Tracey hails from Georgia and has been tied to orthodontics since her completion of a Dental Assisting degree at Gulf Coast Community College in 1999. Aside from a family military relocation that took her away for a few years, Tracey has dedicated her time to our family of practices since the year 2000. With her welcoming demeanor and knowledge in many aspects of the orthodontic process, Tracey is our frontline, serving as our Scheduling Coordinator. You may also find her assisting our team in the clinic when needed. Tracey values the joy of family time, especially when the Alaskan sun is shining, alongside her husband, two grown daughters, and her dogs. Baking, tending to her garden, and cheering on her Georgia Bulldogs are just a few of her favorite things. Tracey’s favorite saying is “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

Completing her Dental Assisting degree at UAA in 1999 was the kickoff to Tracie’s passion for orthodontics and her 25 years with our family of practices in Anchorage and the Valley. She is continually astonished at the transformation of smiles and how orthodontics changes lives. With versatility and enthusiasm, Tracie embraces every aspect of the patient process to ensure the orthodontic journey is remarkable for each and every patient. Her positions over the years have included Chairside Assistant, Orthodontic Technician, Lab Technician, and her current role as Treatment Coordinator. Her many years of playing and coaching basketball taught her that teamwork and communication are essential for success, and she holds herself and her team to high standards in this regard. Tracie is a lifelong Alaskan, and nothing brings her more joy than adventuring with her two children and visiting with her Valdez family. You will often find Tracie exploring her creative side photographing magnificent scenes throughout Alaska and writing about it. Her motto most lived by is: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” ~Maya Angelou

Maia is our newest team member at Valley Orthodontics and her eagerness to acquire new skills has been a refreshing addition to our practice. She was introduced to orthodontics in Anchorage in 2022 and enjoyed it so much that she has stuck with it and found a new work home here in the Valley. Maia’s enthusiasm for learning all aspects of orthodontics and connecting with patients through her good humor and relaxed demeanor has fueled her journey to keep growing in her new career. With her love for fitness, traveling Alaska with friends, and cranking up the music, it’s no wonder she brings a renewed energy to Valley Orthodontics. She respects the motto of Yoda, “Do or do not. There is no try.”

Kristen - Valley Orthodontics

Kristen is a veteran of the dental field, who after 15 years of dental assisting decided to try her hand at something new and learn the art of orthodontic assisting. She joined our team in 2022 and has been a miracle study picking up the intricacies and nuances of orthodontics like a pro. Like many of our team, Kristen was born and raised in Alaska and calls the Valley home. She spends most of her free time with her soon-to-be-husband, her four children, and her dog, enjoying the great outdoors. They can be found riding snowmachines and side-by-sides, hiking, fishing and everything else in between that our great state has to offer. When she’s taking care of patients you will often hear her talk about her passions in life – children, family, health and fitness – and maybe even bestow some sage advice, “Always make the best of every situation.”
